goo a little dance

Now, although there is no real set structure for a single celled organism, I'm going to have to give it (and its brothers) fairly consistent shape in my animation, therefore looking back at 2 films in particular, i am fairly certain of how i want my main amoeba to look.

Disney's 'Flubber' is the most obvious (and painful) choice, as the main character is nothing more than a hyperactive amorphous blob. now i don't intend to make my slow moving amoeba act this way, but more borrow the movement and shape.

the second choice, which lets face it, is another obvious, yet successful choice in my opinion, is 'The Blob'. I've chosen the remake to draw inspiration from, as the original (albeit the better movie), is far from exquisite in terms of blob movement.

Both films focus on a blob like character, either expanding by way of consuming others, or in Flubbers case, cell duplication and division. either way, they both have certain characteristics which i have found useful when sketching up some ideas for my amoebas.
