My villain character.
I plan to write up a full bio for each character, but I'd just like to point out, O'reilly isn't an evil mastermind, he's a crook, and a thief, who happens to be the most able out of the gang, therefore I haven't gone overboard on the evil looks.
Separate design sheets for his boots and neck buckle, will be drawn up, as everyones props are put there for specific reasons.
any way, hope the dark colours work well, as i wanted to separate him from my sidekick character.
any thoughts?

Good baddie, Elly. I like the beetle/insectoid influences, and the colour works well. I dont read him as ultimate evil bad guy, so if you were going for bad , but not utterly evil, you have pulled that off
ReplyDeleteThanks Godwin! I'm yet to check out your work, so will make my way over to your blog after this and leave some feedback!
ReplyDeleteWell spotted Justin, the points are derived from the scarab beetle along with mauve/grey colour scheme. Also, as mentioned briefly in this post, you're right, this character isn't necessarily 'evil', more crooked than anything.
Think more Tony Montana, and less Tex Hex (Bravestar).
Also, I'd like to note the difficulty in trying make a cowboy look anything but good. images of cowboys always being the good guys are hard to shake off, so this one was the hardest by far.
Dont know how this one slipped by, looks awesome though, i reckon your best one yet, you have done the side view well.
