Scanning Help?

Yesterday I scanned my character design class drawings, although, being in that sky blue pencil (for the most part) you can literally see just about nothing. I've tried a bunch of on-line suggestions about retouching in Photoshop, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any hints? As It would be a shame to have shoddy scans of my work, which will make them look bad.

Edit: All my other scans, of my prep character sketches etc. seemed to come out fine, so perhaps it could just be a scanner setting? I used the big scanner up by reception at UCA.
