These are the last few drawings of the broken down concept piece, before I compile them into the one resolved painting.
These 2 pieces are of Abimelech climbing an unclimbable spire in reach of the throne he was desperate to rule on. Of course with a massive ball and chain attached to his foot, and the demons of hell keeping guard, he will never reach the top.
This piece is a revisited concept of Kane being flogged by the embodiment of his murdered brother for eternity. I much prefer this scene as it is more effective and mood provoking and will also not draw the viewers eye away from a particular area in my scene.
