Hello again CGAA community...

After a long and exciting, yet equally stressful summer, I'm back on the blogs and raring to go. Without wanting to waste any time, I've spent many a night in bed thinking over what kind of a project I'd like to sink my teeth into when I return as a mighty third year on the 19th.
Now, maybe I've been away from the computer for too long, or I'm finally brave enough to take on a project I've been wanting to do since I opened Maya: The Robot Factory.

I know what you're thinking (At least I know what Phil and Alan are thinking), but trust me when I tell you, this is not going to be your typical cliche piece. I'm yet to decide on the style, as I would like to sit down and draw a few things before I commit to a chosen style or influence.

I'd like to go out and just say, last term I tried my hand at character animation, rigging and all that 'cool stuff', but it was more to clarify something I had known from the very beginning of this journey, which is; it's not my cup of tea.

Clearly I have to learn these skills, and I have and will continue to, But as Alan already knows, my love for architecture and everything that is man made, leans me towards being an environmental kinda' guy. So with this in mind, I know now what I want to do when I leave this course, and now is the time to start addressing that fact and working to it.

So, stay posted for some initial visual ideas into this piece, as I just want to get down to it right now! It's been a long time coming, but hopefully with the right style and influences I can pull this environmental piece off. Stay tuned.

  1. and hello again to you too, Elly. NIce to have you back in the mix. I think I said before how much I like your branding,=. I'm loving too the upbeat, white, clean blog template - as fresh as peppermint. You presume to know what I might be thinking about your proposal here... never presume! You should know by now that the route to getting an idea greenlit rests with your commitment to the pre-production stage and engagement wit tutorial advice only in the service of ensuring that your idea is as wonderful and resolved as it can possibly be. Alan and I are never in the business of saying "no" - rather we yearn to cry "yes" - and you can accomplish that endorsement simply by getting us excited about your vision and demonstrating that you have an understanding of the pipeline/skill base necessary to achieve it. Personally speaking, I want you to rock my world, Elliot! It's time for you to go out and bring down your first big-bastard buffalo... :D Now get on with getting this idea of yours visualised and up for constructive feedback...
